Community Fundraising Events That Make a Difference
Our events are where generosity meets celebration. From the annual Hog Wild Dinner & Dance to outdoor culinary nights and county show support weeks, every gathering reflects Savanna's spirit and raises funds to support local youth.
What Makes Our Events Special
Sweet Savanna Hog Wild Inc. events aren't your typical fundraisers. They're designed to feel like gatherings among friends—because that's exactly what they are.
We believe that fundraising should be fun, welcoming, and centered on community connection. Every event we host honors Savanna's love of bringing people together through good food, music, and shared purpose.
Whether you're a long-time supporter, a first-time attendee, or a family with young children, you'll find a warm welcome at every event.
Signature Events
These are the cornerstone fundraising events we host each year, each with its own character and community tradition.
Hog Wild Dinner & Dance
Our flagship annual fundraiser
The Hog Wild Dinner & Dance is our largest and most anticipated event of the year. It's a night of food, music, dancing, and fundraising that captures the heart of what we do.
What to Expect
- A full meal featuring locally sourced ingredients and recipes passed down through generations.
- Live music from local bands and performers who donate their time and talent.
- Dancing for all ages and skill levels—no experience required, just a willingness to have fun.
- Silent auction with items donated by local businesses, artists, and supporters.
- Raffle drawings throughout the night with prizes that range from gift baskets to weekend getaways.
- Recognition of youth we've supported and community members who've made a difference.
All proceeds go directly to supporting youth livestock programs and county show participation. Tickets are reasonably priced to ensure accessibility, and we always welcome additional donations at the event.
Outdoor & Culinary Nights
Smaller gatherings with big flavor
Throughout the year, we host outdoor events that combine great food with community connection. These are more intimate than the Dinner & Dance, but just as impactful.
What to Expect
- Cook-offs and tastings where local cooks compete in friendly competitions (BBQ, chili, desserts, and more).
- Outdoor gatherings at local venues, parks, or private properties generously donated for the occasion.
- Family-friendly activities including games, live music, and opportunities for kids to learn about agriculture.
- Direct connection to the youth and families we support, often with youth exhibitors on hand to share their projects.
- Smaller crowds that allow for deeper conversations and relationship-building.
These events often coincide with county fair season, building momentum and excitement as we prepare to support youth at upcoming shows.
County Show Support Week
Being present when it matters most
During the Guadalupe County Youth Livestock & Homemakers Show, we don't just write checks—we show up. Our presence at the show is one of the most meaningful ways we honor Savanna's legacy.
What We Do
- Attend auctions and purchase livestock and projects from youth exhibitors.
- Sponsor add-on bids that increase the earnings young people receive for their hard work.
- Present awards for showmanship, sportsmanship, and dedication.
- Volunteer at the show, helping with everything from set-up to clean-up.
- Cheer on every exhibitor, creating an atmosphere of encouragement and celebration.
- Connect with families who may need support in future years.
This isn't a single event—it's a week-long commitment to being present, engaged, and supportive. It's where our fundraising dollars translate into real impact.

Past Event Highlights
Looking back at previous events reminds us why we do this work and inspires us to keep going.
Hog Wild Dinner & Dance 2024
Our largest turnout yet, with more than 200 community members joining us for an evening of food, music, and fundraising. We raised enough to support 30+ youth projects at the county show that summer.
The highlight of the night was a live auction item—a custom-made bench donated by a local woodworker—that sparked a bidding war and raised additional funds on the spot. The energy in the room reminded everyone why Savanna loved these kinds of gatherings.
Fall Chili Cook-Off 2024
Twelve local cooks entered the competition, each bringing their best recipe and plenty of trash talk. Attendees voted for their favorites, and the winner received a trophy made from repurposed farm equipment.
The event also featured a small petting zoo with animals from youth exhibitors, giving kids a chance to interact with livestock and learn about agriculture. It was a perfect example of how we blend fun, education, and fundraising.
County Show Support Week 2024
We spent five days at the Guadalupe County Youth Livestock & Homemakers Show, purchasing projects, sponsoring awards, and cheering on every single exhibitor. One of the most memorable moments was when a first-time exhibitor received an unexpected add-on bid from our organization.
Her family was in tears, and she later told us that the experience gave her the confidence to continue showing livestock and pursue a degree in agricultural science. That's the kind of impact that keeps us going.
